Huygens freeware capabilities

The Huygens Software is partially freeware:

• The components of the Huygens Suite (like Huygens Essential) have many free functionalities when used without a License String. You can use them for example to read and convert between many File Formats, (as ICS or Tiff files), or to view 3D stacks with the Twin Slicer. Some of the freeware functionalities are:
  • Image read/write in many File Formats (a few special ones require a license)
  • 4D Intelligent Cropper
  • Volume Visualization: Twin Slicer and Sfp Renderer (as in the Free Sfp).
  • Multi Channel joining
  • Convert between different space and time dimensionalities
  • Invert the image
  • Mirror the image
• The stand-alone application Free Sfp is a completely freeware 3D volume renderer.

Examples of freeware uses of Huygens

The open source Scientific Image Data Base microscopic image archive uses the programmable Huygens Scripting in freeware mode to handle 3D images and create 2D thumbnails by using MIP projections.
